Dear Fellow Artist, Lamar Arts is always keen to
ideas that will help our Arts Center and Gallery be noticed and
appreciated. We have a lovely
gallery space and have rotating exhibits, In conjunction with
the ongoing members room exhibit
we also want to feature fresh and varying local art in the gallery.
I recently visited Georgia Heritage of the Arts at Tallulah Gorge, it is a
beautiful Gallery and they
had artistsand crafters demonstrating while guests browsed the many
pieces of art work. My
husband and I thought that was a great idea for the artists of Lamar Arts.
Our gallery is presently
open only on Friday and Saturday. Most of our traffic is on Saturday which
would be a good time tohave an "Artist in Action." We would like artists to bring
painting, clay work, wood carving,
sewing or crocheting and demonstrate your particular technique. You
may
bring wares to
sell and perhaps interest our guests in a workshop. A small
percentage of items sold will go to support the gallery.
Do some
advertising for yourself and help out Lamar Arts at the same time. We are
your Art Gallery. Sign up for your day as "Artist
in Action." If you already
give workshops let us know so we can schedule one for you at our "Art
Depot." Let’s show Barnesville
who their artists are!
